Sick on Saturday (simple past)

I have just had a terrible weekend! On Saturday I was so tired that I slept all morning. When I woke up Ihad a head ache and my throat was sore. My body ached all over. My nose ran and I coughed a lot. My mother took my temperature but I did not have a fever.
My mother made me some soup for lunch and I ate it in bed. I drank some juice. I tried to read a book but I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I lay in bed all afternoon. I drifted in and out of sleep. I drank more juice. I felt miserable all afternoon. I didn’t want to do anything.
got out of bed at dinner time. My parents orderedpizza for dinner and I was able to eat some of it. I drank more juice! I felt a bit better after dinner so I stayed up. I snuggled under a blanket on the couch and watched some TV with my parents. I fell asleep in front of the TV.
The next morning I felt better but now my mother hada cold! She looked miserable. It was her turn to be sick.

numerous monuments recall the 400 or so years when Britain was part of the Roman Empire. Ancient city walls, old roads, front defences. But it is at the villas that one feels closest to the everyday life of Roman Britain.
The villas were homes. In their kitchens breadwas baked.  Along their corridors echoed family conversations. They were well built and handsomely decorated. The first villa was built around A.D. 80-90. It was a small farm. Later on the house was extended, kitchens and baths were added.

It is known that many villas were destroyed by fire. Their ruins remain hidden for years and it is often by accident that the site is discovered.
So in Hampshire a number of oyster-shells were found by a farmer, and the shells, remnants of a long-ago feast, led to the discovery of the villa at Rockbourne.

present perfect song lyrics
1. Michael Bublé: Haven’t met you yet
And I know someday that it’ll all turn out
You’ll make me work
So we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid that I’ll give
So much more than I get
just haven’t met you yet
2. Bryan Adams: Have you ever really loved a woman?
When you love a woman
then tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman then tell her that she’s the one
’cause she needs somebody to tell her that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really –really really ever loved a woman?
3. Rod Stewart: Have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna knowHave you ever seen the rain?
Coming down on a sunny day
4. Charlene: I’ve never been to me. (GPA! GPA!)
I can see so much of me
Still living in your eyes
Won’t you share a part of a weary heart
That has lived a million livesI’ve been to Nice and the isle of Greece
When I sipped champagne on a yatch
I moved like Harlow in Monte Carlo and showed them what I’ve got
I’ve been undressed by kingsand I’ve seen some things that a woman ain’t supposed to see I’ve been to paradise but I’ve never been to me
5. Madonna: Take a bow
I’ve always been in love with you
I guess you’ve always known it’s true
You took my love for granted why
The show is over say good bye
